HOW DID YOU GET STARTED OUT RIDING?

I have been riding ever since I was physically able, but seeing the older kids doing big jumps on downhill bikes at the age of 11 definitely cemented something within me!

WHAT WAS YOUR FIRST BIKE?

My first “real” bike was a 2007 Norco Manic. a 160mm travel, free ride hard tail! I quickly learned that I really needed a bike for dirt jumping and a bike for downhill haha.

WHAT IS YOUR FAVOURITE PART ABOUT BIKING?

It’s a place where I get to scare myself and progress. I love the process of learning new things and piecing them together in my mind one frame at a time. When you finally stomp something clean, it’s a great feeling of accomplishment.

YOUR BIGGEST CYCLING ACHIEVEMENT(S) SO FAR?

Probably the flatspin haha! Other than that, I don’t know if I have a ‘biggest achievement’. They’ve all been in different disciplines, so I can’t pick just one!

WHEN YOU’RE NOT BIKING, YOU ARE...

Probably building trails, cooking in the kitchen or socialising with friends. 

FAVOURITE TRAILS/TRACKS/RIDES?

Ooooooh, number Dream Track! Otherwise there is just so much variety in Queenstown, I love mixing it up.

FAVOURITE MARLEEN PRODUCTS?

At this stage it’s the bombproof Dt Swiss FR560. But I’m excited to be testing out some different Maxxis ‘xc’ style tyres for big air on the big bike!
